Title: All 9 1/4 parts interchangeable?
Post by: Stan Paralikis on March 18, 2009, 03:41:47 PM
Will this absolutely positively fit my 1976 9 1/4 open?

Stan, ask him for the spline count on the pinion and if the ring gear bolts are std or metric.
From my quick check online of r&p suppliers, it looks like 29 spline SHOULD be what is on the pinion.

IF that IS the case, I'd say with 90% certainty those whould be drop-in replacements.

All signs are pointing to yes, but I am still not 100% sure it's identical....Mopar Action's tech say the 9 1/4" is a great axle and mention the Dakota coming with it in '92 and up....but no one has asked your question to E-Berg yet....

What does E-berg know?  (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif)
Sorry, Rick.  Just joking.
Checking several parts lists on-line, they show the same P/N for ring & pinion sets, regardless if it's for a '76 passenger car or an '06 Dakota.

I'm going for it.
