Title: Home, Home on the Reeege!
Post by: firedome on November 13, 2008, 09:19:28 AM
Got the Reeege home today!!!  Despite dark skies and
showers,  my ol' rollback man Walter showed up on time and the
ride down & back to Scranton from Bingo was uneventful, and it was
parked in the driveway by noon!  Rain prevented getting pics, but
s'posed to clear up tomorrow PM, so I'll get some... I found out the 90
yr old lady original owner used to take it on the train to Florida
every October and back to PA in the Spring ...so no wonder the body is
as clean as it is underneath... It does some cosmetics, for the plastic
bumper extensions on each bumper, the typical sagging headliner... time
will tell on the mechanicals...  but in these parts body rust is
what does a car in, so the body is key...  but so far I like
it!

Here are pics of the Rodger Dodger
St.Roger....er St.Regis..(http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley36.gif)
Lose the granny wire wheels. This thing screams cop wheels and cheese grater dog dishes.
Or a classy set of alloy wheels, but that's just my opinion.(http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley14.gif)

Middle son's first car... 320K miles and still burns no oil, all
original engine. But needs a disty repair...I just want it out of my
driveway!!!!!  # 2 son has an '82 900 Turbo, parked in the yard to
the L of pic.. I want that gone too!!  Great cars, but not in my
yard!!  How many of you spotted my DeSoto, thru the Dodge
windshield??  And the '70 Nova in the other bay... original family
car... I need more garages!!!

Steve - those wheel covers are yours if you want em.. must add 15 lbs apiece to the unsprung weight!!

Anyone have a clean set of 15" stainless Mopar full wheel covers, say circa 1970 to 80?

I want to take the wires off and just put on 4 stock plainer style full
wheel covers, not dog dishes - wouldn't work visually with the dark
vinyl roof or the rich interior - you should see how plush inside this
thing is, it has the optional loose pillow navy velour 60-40
seats...  more plush than my '69 Imp was!  This ain't no cop
car!!!

LeaNburn would put cop rims on a wheelbarrow (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley17.gif)

Something like these would look correct

The eBay auction I horked the pic from had a BIN price of $190 (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley11.gif)   puleeze!

$190 -that's riRichardilus!  The '78 Dippy caps look like those but
have the nice Dodge crest in the middle - that's what I might look
for... I like alloys on more sporty cars, but wheel covers look good on
these kinda formal looking ones...leastwise to me...

Steve - you're not hallunciating, don't worry -  I think that was on my "Wanted Parts" post!!

make that hallucinating... I must have been, when I typed that!

I tried hallunciating once...  I didn't like the Ouija board or the flimsy stilts.  The spiked pineapple slices were good though (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif)

Here:
Took a bit of digging my garage is packed tight! Just ask Steve.
Nice set,driver quality,some dings/scratches.
Just pay the shipping--they are yours.
They are from 76-78 Fury or Gran Fury.
I used them last year on the Dippy. They do fit on tight. No valve stem slicing (like my old '68 VIP wheel covers)

Pretty! But I got got a Dodge and they got the Plymmie symbol... the
'71s that Steve has were unmarked for some odd reason...plus I had a
'71 Fury... Nostalgia Party anyone?? Awww... anyhow the 75-78 Fury had
14" wheels IIRC, and my 2 Gran Furys (Furies?), '76 and '77, had 15"
wheels....  thanks for the offer though Lea, they are nice...

Found these NOS still in the wrapper 15" wheel covers from our buddy Ed of Edsnos who hails from Conneticut
Both Steve ans I are regular customers along with a few other Moparfins members.
Mentioning my name and Hobby's is like twisting his arm,LOL!!
He treats us well.
No bids as of yet, and much cheaper than the 195.00 dreamer listing.
Try $34.99 for size and they are for a 1980 model!! (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley20.gif)
Snap 'em up before I do!! (http://www.moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley4.gif)

I will hold off bidding on them.
As for the Plymmie covers, when are you planning to go North? I can meet you in Syracuse or something like that for lunch.
