Title: 62 Newport Torsion Bars
Post by: Jon Doersch on May 09, 2008, 08:22:21 AM
I am new to Mopars and am having a hard time sourcing torsion bars for my 62 Newport. I am not looking to make a total G machine (I already have one of those) but I would like a more performance oriented than stock torsion bar. Any ideas?

I have to measure the length of those, but I think they are the 42" bars.  When I get home tonight, I'll loog at the hollanders and see what the cross ref is.  You're porbably going to want the 300H and cop bars, which are the same.  KYB shocks are recommended as well

Hey Jon

I got your info.  I'm afraid it isn't very good news, but here it is.  I was hoping the book gave me the length, but it didn't.

Here are the T Bar ID Numbers.  The higher the number, the stronger they are.  Even Number is Left. Odd Number is Right.  First 4 digits of the Chrysler part number are 1825.  The following numbers are found on the end of the T Bar.  I believe the number goes forward.
