Here's the details. It's actually a 70 Newport with the 71 300 grille, bumpers and tailights. 383  changed from a 2bbl to a 4 bbl. The previous owner did a lot of work to it which is why
I bought it. It's pretty much a done car. New duals with turbo mufflers, brand new ralley wheels although I'm gonna put a set of road wheels on it, rebuilt front end, transmission, radiator, new vinyl top and new interior. The only things left to do are fix the A/C and although the paint looks  decent I'm gonna repaint it so it has a good shine and depth to it. Driving it home 300 miles it ran great. It's a fun cruiser on the highway. I got 16 mpg at 75 mph on the trip. I paid $4000 for it. I'm sure the previous owner had way more than that in it. And of course it's a rust free blue plate California car. I'll post some more pics later.

Take the "Chrysler" emblem off the rear deck lid and put the "Three Hundred" letters on the quarters........then you'll have a tribute cloned re-creation !

I always tell Snotty that......I cursed the fusey when it was in pieces, but man they are fun to drive around in........you feel nobody can harm you, unless they're in a Sherman tank or a dump truck.........great turnpike cruisers though, if you can afford the fuel

Damn!  I just got drool on my keyboard!

I have always liked those wheels.  The only set I ever owned are on the New Yorker I sold to Polarco.

Fogel's would fit very well on my car!

Stop it Chris!  You're frustrating me to no end by showing those!  I desperately need 15 inch wheels that don't cost an arm and a leg!

Speaking of....
I need ya guy's opinion:

1)  Can I get away with not replating the hub, and...
2)  whatdaya think about the painted-to-match center?  Or repaint it "argent" or whatever they call it.

I like the look of the body colored centers...  SHARP indeed!  I remember seeing them matched to blue and red cars back when they still frequented our streets.  The set on my NYer was thin in the argent area so I stripped the paint and polished the chrome, they looked great!  (I added a set of straight American Racing spinners too, but that's another story...  (http://moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley2.gif))

Restoring and replating yer centers will prove awful costly Stan.  I'd look for a better set first and where you live you shouldn't have too much trouble.  Up here in the rust-belt, road salt ate pot metal for lunch.

1) It's up to you.  They look fine, and no ne will see the "pimples" unless they get on their knees.  I woldn't worry about them unless you can find a better set.

2) It's a personal thing.  Me, I like them painted to match the color of the car.
