Hey I know that car! LOL. Glad it got there and glad you like it. I love rust free! Please keep it away from the tracks there Bob, I'd hate to see that locomotive get hurt.

Big Red and Bigger Red make a good pair.  M&E 18 was built in Sept 1964.  When was the Chrysler built?

Big Red's going to be a nice cruiser Steve!  (just don't change the grille (http://moparfins.com/forum/smileys/smiley9.gif) PLEEEZE)  I'm humbled to see that he already has a new playmate in the form of Stitcher's Coupe DeVille.

Nice pic with the MLW-ALCO Bob!  Now to research the M&E...  Those Montreal-built ALCO's are popping up all over the east coast on short lines, and they still operate reliably thanks to the strict maintenance given to them by thier former Canadian owners.  They have a sound like no other locomotive!

Heh,Ourr cars were not exactly treated well, and rusted out pretty quick.. up here in Canada..lol
But our locomotives were kept tip top to run in any type of weather condition. LOL
Both my Dad and Uncle are Heavy Duty diesel mechanics by trade.Although both chose heavy equipment and truck-not locomotive-the teachings they recieved on diesel maitenance-especially on how the cold affects them- was shared with the locomotive diesel mechanics. They were hardly ever shut off except for maitenance .
Like the steam locomotives before them, the engines were built to each lines' specifications and had to meet all of their tough requirements.
There is one thing I will never forget--the smell of my Dad's clothes being washed/dried.The smell of diesel fuel/oil mixed with laundry soap and fabric softener throughout the house..That and the smeel of Mom's home-baked bread.
I grew up with the trains but they were silenced in 1988.
RIP Newfie Bullet..

The interior is toast Steve. . . The paint is erroded as usual.  But it looks like I put some time in the brakes and drop an engine in there I'll have a driver.  Gotta get past the VOAB first
