Tech- - FUEL / plymouth 277 carb
« on: April 08, 2012, 08:50:34 PM »
I'm looking to replace the Carb on my 1956 Plymouth Belvedere. It has a 277 engine. Anyhow I'm having trouble figuring out what Carter Carb I need. There's a few on eBay. For all the 1956 V8 carbs on there they are described differently. Some say for cars with choke on Carb, downdraft, ect. I'm sure its very simple to figure out what I need but I just bought the car and not familiar with what kind of Carb I have yet. I also see P29 Carter. What does that mean? If Anyone can help me determine what Carb I need it would be much appreciated. Thanks much!

General Tech- - BRAKES / 1956 belvedere break booster
« on: April 08, 2012, 04:41:08 PM »
Hey Guys
Another issue I need to work on on my 1956 belvedere is with the breaks. Fortunately I can stop if I need to but the pedal vibrates and doesn't come up from the floor. After I stop I have to pull the break back up with my foot underneath the padal. I'm guessing its a problem with the break booster? I found A place in California that will rebuild it but I wanna diagnose the problem before I remove the booster and send it off for a rebuild. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks! Andy

Tech- - DRIVE TRAIN / 1956 2 speed powerflight transmission
« on: April 08, 2012, 03:48:51 PM »
Hi. I'm newer to this forum. I recently purchased a 1956 belvedere in good restorable shape. My first step in restoration is to get it mechanicaly sound. For some reason the reverse doesn't work and other times it works fine. Anybody have any suggestions what it could be? I'm only 31 yes old so the push button 2 speed transmission is before my time. LOL. Any help is much appreciated! Thanks! Andy

Hi. This summer I'm going to be restoring a 1956 Plymouth Belvedere. I want to completely redo the wiring with origional style of wiring. I want to make my restoration as origional in appearance as possible. Any advice on where to get all the correct harnesses would be greatly appreciated! Thanks much! Andy
