I've got a Carter AFB on mine.... Wondering how cost effective a rebuild is versus buying an Edelbrock and screwing with that to make it right.

Well it's done! and holy cow what a BIG! difference. The engine
really seems to breath a lot better and when them secondaries open up,
that baby flys!! Needless to say I don't want to do that again for some
time.

So now this carb is working, how much shorter lifespan will Mobby's motor mounts have now?

Hahahaha, you know Dave I was thinking the same thing. They have to
last untill he gets the sweet ones he is looking at that have the
capability to lock up when needed and as a regular mount when not under
stress. We shall keep our fingers crossed they last untill he gets the
good ones.

Who wants to set up an over/under on the mounts....

Amazingly the coil ground resistor was preventing spark and heating the wires... removed it, and now it starts... that was the spark issue.

I fixed the gas leak by ditching the metal tubing for rubber

I got a decent spring now for the pedal too...

Go figure now my car works...

Get that Fuel Line off the Intake and fix the gas pedal set up, Steve said it was wrong.

Well on the 440 in the wagon I ditched the original carter, since it had been sitting for at least 15 years with no rebuild....started and idled fine but wouldn't run down the street very well.   For now I slapped on a 625 eddy with electric choke and the car runs fine.

Eventually I will be upgrading to a demonsizzler thermoquad on a spreadbore intake...gotta love those sewer pipe size secondaries....BOOOOWAAAAAAA!!!!!

well the way i see it is if you want a " cruiser" carb  not for all out hp go for the eddie, if ur lookin for most hp and dont care about fuel economy go for the holley. you rarely will see a eddie on a drag car......theres a reason for that. dont get me wrong i like the afb/avs style carbs, and i feel for a heavy c-body there the way to go.
