Nice work!!  The creased and highly sculptural lines on these bodies makes then so unique in styling, it's important to make them crisp like that to look right.

Will it go back to the same red color?

You want something that will weep into the cracks and crevices.  Back when I was a wee one, they used to squirt oil in all the hidden places.  Used oil stuck better and lasted longer.  Back then it was like crude oil.  LOL

Used oil might stick good but it's not great for rust proofing as it has acid in it from blowby.

I've used Por15, expensive but effective, and has to be used up when opened, as noted. Works best on metal with some "tooth", not so well on clean bare new metal.

I'm just saying what we did in the 50's.  You should know that
My Dad did my Moms 48 Olds in 53 or so.  He traded it in 64 for a Fury.  Had to squirt oil in the cylinders to get it started
