Hey! We could hide the Ultra One in those beer bottles! Good idea Leaburn!

Side effects of drinking it: dangerously lower levels of iron in your body.....

The oil lamp looks like the kind used on wagons or cars for the rear...all red lenses.

Here is the finished door picture:

The glass was unharmed and all of the rust came out from around the lens.

Here is the next project....a very rusty old electric lantern (flashlight).
The batteries were the tall cylindrical dry-cell type that leaked something fierce into the bottom of this unit. Talk about a test! This one is going to take some soaking.....

I removed the switch and soaked the case in carb cleaner to remove paint and grease. The Ultra One hasn't hurt any switches I have soaked so far, but caustic carb cleaner is another story...

UPDATE!!!
The top of the oil lamp was soaking  for a day and some lettering miraculously appeared still readable after being covered with rust.....

FORD

I was able to identify the lamp as a taillight for a 1915-1916 Model T !

If I had glassbeaded it the lettering would have been peened or smushed over......

Ok  here's the flashlight after a little soaking

The hole in the lower corner was my fault.....got too rambunctious with a screwdriver. This is why Dwight has to go easy on Miss Belvedere....the car could end up being full of holes. If the rust is all the way through, you could just soak it until you are happy with the level of rust removal and then treat that solid rust area with a conversion process to stabilize it. This way the Belvedere wouldn't look like swiss cheese!

Do you see the boarder people having a fit if we bring back some of this stuff back to the Great White North?
