   First pic is for Leaburn.

Finally found the time and energy today to go out and pluck the tranny. Here is the 300 in the dungeon...

Motorcycle jack doubles as an awesome trans jack.

Kerplunk! Absolutely amazed how easy it was to take this sucker out, about 45 minutes and three beers start to finish!

Up on the bench for a cleaning and whatever else. Going to order the torque converter and seals tomorrow, all should be here no later than Monday.

Here is a shot of the new booster just laid in place, paint it up and bolt er in later on.

Here is my Mopar fan club. Thats Peter the female on the left and Sparkle the male on the right, they live up by the work bench and have a full run outside the back of the garage. They mostly just poke their heads up and if they could they would just laugh at me all day long. You know it costs $230 to neuter a $10 male rabbit?

Here is some more of the crap that shares space with the 300. The 78' elan is out by the door to make a little room. My world is closing in, cant wait to build the addition this spring...

Almost got the cash fund topped up to get the new ragtop on order. I will have it shipped to my buddy in Houston and I will bring it back with me on the plane when I visit him in April. I absolutely hate dealing with UPS...

Nice pics!
Jimmy is going on dat car like a pair of rabbits!! LOL!!
Newfie plates are hard to come by up here.
It is good to hear you have a U.S. contact.Makes thing much easier,IMHO.
That 230.00 bill will pay for itself in the long run.We all know about rabbits' verility.Probably would have had the garage filled up with baby rabbits in no time short!

I don't yell, i'm neuter'd too. The motor is a "TREE 80 TREE". I know, it should be turquoise but I took a walk on the wild side.

The tires are Dimension IV, available thru GCR tire stores thru national tire distributors. Here's the link...

http://www.nationaltire.com/catalog/tireDetails.asp?tID=9&tCatID=3&tireCat=Passenger

Use the dealer locator top right corner.

As for the trans, i'm not sure what you are asking? There are 4 bolts that attatch the converter to the flex plate, you take them out and away you go, trans and converter fall to earth. Is that the answer?

And as for the Newf plates, I got a 67 and a 69 hanging in the garage but I know where to get a 68. You want it for the barge lea?

Got the new canvas top, curtain, well liner and pads while in Texas. Got an upholsterer giving me a hand to install it on the 21st. It's my first time out with a convertible top so for $30 an hour i'd say its cheap insurance. With two hands at it I would say it will be completed in an evening.

Well, I got the top on with just a few details left to wrap up. All secured at the rear and glued to the front. Came out perfect, not a wrinkle anywhere. The shot below is with the top partially open to keep the strain off the canvass while waiting to be finished.

Currently have the axles pulled to install new seals while the gearset was resealed to the housing. I was planning on putting the 3:23's in with the new converter but the converter is still on backorder so with the price of fuel expecting to skyrocket this summer, 2:76's are staying put.

Another thing that has to be done is the factory mirrors have to be fitted and the top of the doors repainted. The crappy aftermarket mirrors have to go. Got the l/side mirror but it looks like I will be buying the repro for the r/side from PG classics later in the week.

Got the new starter, power steering pump and lines ready to go on this week.New shoes and hardware on the front done aswell as the new brake booster installed. Oh, summer has crept up awful quick...

The top is done. Not bad for an amature i must say.

Had it out in the sun today, most of the wrinkles came out. I will give it the once over with the steamer tomorrow.

Well I just ordered the Magnum 500's for the VIP, 15x7 front and 15x8 rear's, from Jeg's. Should be here in about 10 day's. As for the center's they are ordered from PG classics in New Brunswick. Thinking about a pair of 255/60r15's on the rear and leaving the 235/75r15's on the front. Blackwall out of course. They should clear the skirt's ok but I will fit the wheel before I buy the tire's. I have seen some pretty big tire's on Fury's but they don't have the skirt's the VIP has. Should look pretty sassy.

The 255 60R15's are smaller in diameter (27.0) compared to the 2357515's (28.9) Jimmy.
The arse will be lower --It will make the car look like the rear springs are bagged if you keep the 235's up front..
Trust me on this:
With the proper backspacing on the 15X8's, you can squeeze in a 2756015 for the rear and go 23570R15 in front.
Car will sit level, and still have that meaty look from behind with no rubbing.
If you want to go 255's in the rear, best to go with 255's in front
OR
2456015 or 2157015 in front to match if you want a staggered look. All have an OD of 27.0
Now...with smaller tire in the rear your 3.23's will be more like 3.31's  and speedo will be out by 4-5 MPH faster. The engine will be revving up 235 RPM's more at 60 MPH (100 KM/H)
The original tall & skinny bias tires when the car was new had a OD of 28.0 or more. Most disc brake cars had 8.85-15 as an option.--which is equivalent to 2357515.
Wagons got that size as standard equipment.
8.55-15 does match out to be a 2556015-but again a radial will be smaller in OD when doing the bias/radial conversion .
***
Bottom line is what makes you happy.I am putting in my 2 cents so that the car does look right.
Mixed up yet/ No? Well,I can easily do that! LOL!!
Tires are my job.
I have yet steered anybody wrong (pun) I helped Steve with his choices  for the Polaraco--and now the car is going to be in a big magazine!
(gonna buy 5 copies for my mother!! Dr.hook)

Yeah, I got homework to do on tires, got a chart with the OD's in the garage and the 275's are going in there if they will clear the skirts. I know the rim will fit but got to mount a few tires to check their side profiles first. Your 2 cents means a lot, thanks man...
