Names Instead of Handles
« on: September 01, 2015, 10:00:12 AM »

I see peoples names are being used instead of handles now. Not so sure that's a good idea. We know people more by their handles than their names.

Chris, go to your profile, modify profile, then account settings and you can change that to your handle.

Sorry. That was NOT intentional. I'll see if I can make that change for everyone.

There wasn't anything I could do in the database but find people with blank "real names" and copy over their handles. Never found the setting you referred to but I did find "display name."

Yeah, names and handles need to be switched, will have to go back and see how to swap the two, unless you can do everyone at once.

I will see if they were reversed, the problem is we still have some blank display names.

I fixed dana44’s handle and gave him global moderator rights.

I see that. Thanks Dave, nice to see the handles fixed, too, and global moderator rights....big name for little work. Thanks!

I wasn't aware of quite how few visits we get here... site-wide. Looking at fewer than 100 people per day.

What about adding a news report of such a new "acquisition" over at Allpar, let people over there check it out. It's not like a hostile takeover will result, but might be able to do something like suggest Moparfins as a site to start, build, and report on restoration/hotrod/classic/whatever  projects since it isn't something that really happens over there. Not trying to dictate what this wonderful place represents, but it might get more people over here if they have something more to follow.

Chris, do you have any more paint/restoration job pictures? Haven't seen any in quite a while.

That's in the plan. I am still straightening out some stuff behind the scenes and am hoping to get the domain name over before the full onslaught. I want to make sure everything is hunky dory.

Don't let me rush you, figure you are plenty busy with little things here and there.

Far from hostile.  It was more throw and run.  Like a hand grenade.  LOL
