Newport Gas Tank Question Snotty

Just put new Strut-rod bushings on the Grem - again!!  This time I used Moog two-piece ones, actually built for Mustang.  They are a lot stouter; hopefully they will last.

Not from Rock Auto, but I have bought them all over the place and they were fine.  The only problem I encountered was the locking rings on the sending units don't fit quite right.  Last one I did was Polaraco, so things may have changed

Save your old sending unit lock ring. Most of the aftermarket ones don't lock down tight enough. Using two gaskets helps sometimes but the old ring is the way to go.

Thanks.  Having just bought that lack ring and gasket I will most certainly keep them.  Rockauto listed new sending units two years ago but no longer.  Mine is working so  was just planning on swapping it.

Ha!!
Ordered a new tank from Rock Auto yesterday.  Just a few bucks over $300.  I'll let you know how it is when I get it.

Got the tank and it's in.  Looks perfect.  I did need to reuse the sending unit and neck grommet.  I recommend one of these if you guys need one.
Someone asked where it was made: Canada.
