A few weeks ago some of us were having a discussion about how long a battery might last in a given car.  I wanted to add to that but cannot find the thread!

What's the longest you've has a battery last?

Thought I was doing pretty good with a little over 8 years, but 13? That is almost unheard of!

Here's another amazing battery:  bought a Sears Kerosene heater (like a Kerosun) in 1993, and the original 9v little rectangular battery that came with it still works to ignite it!  2o years!!

Same here.  When thinking that the car spent all of its life in Wasco, where the summer temps can hit 113 regularly, it is really amazing!

The battery in the daily beater I had in 2004 was 11yo and going strong, a collision was needed to kill it.

On my recently departed beater (a 99 car), I replaced the original battery in 2009.

The Optima Redtop I installed in my (meanwhile sold) Imperial in 2005 is still going strong.

Had to replace the battery in the Newport today.  It was from December '06.  7 years is fine with me!  New one was over 100 bucks though!  Sheesh!!
