Hello all. I am the owner of a 56 Plymouth Belvedere and will be restoring/modding the car over the coming months.

Here is the car:

And I have a Parts car that looks like this (let me know if you need anything):

I am just a knowledge hound and any information I can pick up is greatly appreciated. I will also share and help where I can.

Thanks everyone. Right now my plans are to build an early 60's High School Hot Rod. Body will be all stock with new chrome, a driver quality paint job, and new rubber. I will redo the interior, but I will probably go generic on the fabric. SMS is just to damn expensive and the lead times are much to long.

I have already rebuilt the entire front suspension and steering, but will be adding an ECI front disc brake kit.

The original 277 Poly/Powerflite will be replaced with a 1963 318 Poly/Loadflite out of a truck that will probably go into the machine shop in a couple of months. I may stroke the engine with a 360 crank, but I haven't decided. I also have an Edelbrock P600 3x2 manifold that I will install. Finally, I am going to update the drive line with a late 60's 8 3/4 B-Body rear end.

Dave

Sounds like a heck of a plan, and love that your staying with the poly motor!!....T-Cow approves....  Can't wait to watch it unfold.

You'll have to have the block line bored for the 360 crank

My wife and I added another car to our Forward Look family: A 1956 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer. The car is well optioned with power brakes, power front windows, power seat, and front bumper guards. I think it was restored 10 - 15 years ago.

I saw those beauties over at FL.net... very nice!  No need to swap
heads, Polys have gained respect on their own merits - I have a 354
Poly in my '58 Windsor and a 318 Plym poly in my '64 Dodge.Keep the
pics coming!

Thanks all. And the Dodge is staying as original as I can keep it so no hemi heads for this one. If it was a lower model car or wasn't as "optioned" as it is, then I would be VERY tempted. The car has power front windows, two way power seat, and power brakes. I do have a power steering set-up out of a 56 Plymouth that my eventually find its way onto the dodge.
