POST, people!!
« on: October 09, 2012, 03:15:56 PM »

Look at the dates of last response for various topics on the Forum...
where is everybody??  It's nice that AJ is continuing the site,
hopefully, but this place is moribund anyway, we're dying a slow-
motion death with the lack of participation.  Sorry to be the one
pointing out that the Emperor has no clothes, but it's true, just take
a look....

I also hate to make excuses, but I did get the roof plywood on the house, now I have about 1200 or so cement tiles to haul up there at 11 pounds each, but I do check first thing in the morning and after it gets dark right now. Pretty soon I will be working on the insides until I start hitting my fingers with a hammer, but that isn't for another couple weeks, haha.

It's that time of year and people are in moods with the way these times are.  Seen it before.  12 years I've been running this site

This is not unique.  There is an AMC site I am part of that has had even less participation.  It happens.

AMC, even when they were being built, were not very common. There were some fast and nice looking ones, sure, but I have had my 1939 Nash Business Coupe and I have never ever seen another one other than pictures, and I have only had one person in 39 years of her being in my possession able to identify her without hesitation. He was an 89 year old Merchant Marine and used to have one back in the early 50s, so not so surprised there aren't many people on a site about them.

Just kidding.

What, we can't have a funny little razzing every now and then????
I am serious about never seeing another 39 Nash in real life, too.

I've always liked '39/40 Nashes. one of the best looking '30s Art Deco
designs IMO. I've always wanted a '39 or '40 Nash Lafayette... the
Ambassadors are a bit big for me, there's one of those for sale near
me, I keep looking for a smaller Lafayette 6 cyl 4 dr. A guy about 30
mi away has one with no drivetrain and very rough, too much of a
project for me. Another guy near Detroit had one last year in very nice
shape and a runer for 5 grand, I just didn't have it at the time. I
really like them, it's sort of the
earlier ancestor of the Rambler and a great looking car.

But back to Mopars, especially C bodies? Seems like the enthusiasm just
isn't there lately... unless it's total delusionality... the feckin'
eedjit that bought my '71 F3 last year for 1500 has been trying to sell
it for 3500 ever since, and still has it... duh!

Used to have a 40 Lafayette 4door  back in 1977, full parts car, had to let it go for scrap but saw it in a junkyard a few years later. I kept the chrome on the side and the trunk hinges for it, wished I could have kept it as my sedan hotrod.  Plenty of pictures kind of, but never one in person. Everything is slow these days, no time, no place, no money, no lot of things.
