Yeah, that happens. Heck, it happens to interiors a whole lot newer than yours, so don't feel bad, just time to save for a new upholstery job.

An organic solvent will always work better than a detergent/surfactant
due to molecular structure,  but the best ones are pretty much NLA
because they also usually happen to be carcinogens.

Xylene, benzene, toluene, ketones, CCl4, not so good for you.

That's why I said carb cleaner.  Closest you can get to all of the above.

Nature of the beast, I know.  Just don't know what in hell I will ever match that damn gold interior with though.  Black cloth sounds really good about now!

Be surprised once you get over to the upholstery shop. Mine in town has a ton of samples, she can get just about anything out there.
