Best damn way to do it. In the meantime, you could imagine restoring something like this:

And that would be a 3-9-2.

And if that one has too many doors, here's the maternal twin for less.

And for those which prefer station wagons, here's a nice one from the looks of it.

Good idea. Working on a car that you dont like for 100%  (in your case because of the color) is really working against the flow.

I hear ya Steve.  But I really don't want a wagon.  I just want another nice 71 Fury 3.  I was really contemplating Rogers.  Had i known he was trying to move it that fast, I would have figured something out.  That's why I didn't say anything right away on his post.  I was disappointed I guess.  The other part is I need to thin the heard some more.

The more I think about this, the better it feels.  But I am nagging with the question what to do with Polaraco?  Part it?  Or put it together with the the virgins stuff and get what I can for it.  Putting it together could be a nightmare.

Go for it Steve. You have a place large enough to have the two next to each other, pull hood and unbolt fenders from the back side, undo the subframe, steering column, unplug the wiring, pull the master cylinder and keep it with the frame, fuel line and gas cable, yank her out of there.

Are you still on the medication they gave you in the hospital??
I respect that Polaraco and the Virgin are your cars and do whatever you want with it.
Polaraco? Why break down a masterpiece of engineering??
It is your identity.
Polaraco had caught the attention and imaginations of many people including the E-Booger himself.
You did things to that car nobody has ever even dreamed of doing  to a C body.
Polaraco owns a chapter in the history of Mopars (including an upcoming article in Mopar Action)Shame on tearing it down.
Rust is like cancer, you can treat it but it never completely goes away.
You built Polaraco to drive year round--so drive the crap out of it till there's nothing left.
After experiencing the crazy drivers in Joisey, keep the Virgin for parts-you never know when Polaraco will get hit.
You said yourself how hard it is to find body and trim parts for 72 Polara's
You will never get your investments back from either car.
What you really need to do is thin out the herd in other areas, and finish what you started.
FOCUS DAMMIT!!
You are like the Dad I wish I had,and you treat me like a son.
Now I really have to come down and kick your ass and slap some sense in you..

It's allot of work mechanically and electrically.  But there is no body work which is a good thing.

I'm kinda with Lea,  wouldn't it be easier just to fix the rust
and repaint it and drive the hel out of it, not worring about it,  than to graft and change everything out? Plus cars like
the Virgin don't exactly come along every day... that car oughta be
indoors!!  IMO it oughta be left alone, but then of course I'm the
originality freak here, and in the minority that way.

You shoulda told me about interest in the F3, Steve, I'da worked
something with you, and natch I'da preferred to see it stay in the
"Family"!!  I can guarantee you'd never have found a  more solid
body Fury, in this part of the world at least. I too like the F3 better
than the other Mopar Cs, they are the lightest, shortest WB, and the
best handling. I took a bath on it, but the guy does really appreciate
the car, and that was important to me.  He's 70 and had one "back
in the day".
