Westerly view.

Champlain is big, that's a VT island (Grand Isle about 15 mi
long)  in the right background,  the NY side of the lake is
the low foothills on the left horizon.

You've  got Lake Hopatcong, not a bad little lake... actually NW
Jersey is kinda pretty, just too darn many people in Joisey.

Heading back to Champlain on Tuesday for our last long stretch (a week) then it'll just be

a few long weekends through October. We close up camp by Nov 1.  Summer is flying by.

I would prefer some better country than Jersey has to offer and Hopatcong sucks

Never been to Hopatcong, but it doesn't look too bad on the map!  I picked up a boat trailer there once.

Actually the water gets almost tepid, it's fairly shallow so warms up
quickly,  when it's in the 70s it's way warmer than the ocean. I
don't like cold water either, I even won't get in if it's under about
68.  I spend way more time on the boat!  The daily driver:

One of 3 project boats (needs floor replaced and transom), we have a
Vanguard 420 sailboat and 15' Mirrocraft alum runabout (that one's
almost done)  project boats too...  all my boats are old... way too many projects!

I like Evinrude/Johnson, always had good luck with them, we have
several V-4s and a 3cyl on the current driver. I do have a 4 cyl Merc
on the Mirrocraft, that boat sunk in a storm 6 yrs ago and I've been
re-doing the wiring on that motor ever since!

Someday hope to live most of the year here, I love playing with boats as much as with cars!

Vinatge 1958 FeatherCraft w/ fins, I put a new floor in it and restored
the 1957 Merc Mk 30.  Sold to a collector in NH about 5 years
ago...
