I am not a fan of vinyl roof covering either, my Barracuda had pinholes and my Charger had its cover stripped off well before I got her but the chrome is still there, so I know it was a vinyl topped car. It won't get it back.

That was one of the things I loved about my old 70 Sport fury.  It was a factory VO2 car...it had a EW1 painted roof!

I like vinyl roofs, but do know that they are causes for eating roofs.

Love that 70 SF!!  My 71 F3 has a black vinyl roof, I don't love
it, but it's mint so it'll stay. Most cars had 'em back then, a useless
option if ever there was one that was a pure profit maker...

The idea, as far as I can tell, was to keep the roof from baking the inside of the car by absorbing the heat as insulation to keep the roof cooler. Don't know as it really works, as Steve said, tend to rust the tops.

Plus most were black, a real heat sink.

Doesn't show the dirt or bake marks as much!

Thanks!!  I wish I could have kept it but after hauling 24 2x4's in the car, with the back seat removed, I realized I needed a truck.

It's a good time to install a roof top Sattelite radio antenna.  And it's white too
