Anyone planning on going to Carlisle on Sat. July 9 ?   I'm planning an East Coast swing at that time.

G-burg's a great town... we lived 20 minutes S, just over the state line on a farm outside Taneytown MD for 30 years,  and 2 of our 3 kids went to Gettysburg College (Lutheran affiliated, both kids got church scholarships). I never get tired of visiting those battlefields and learning more of the history. It's well worth a detour from Carlisle, and only 30 min away.

Agreed!

When we camped at "Upper Black Eddy" in Penn. in 2000, we attended a German Lutheran Church in the nearby town.  There was a woman serving there as an Interim Pastor.  Her Husband was also a Lutheran, serving another church full-time.  They met in Seminary - Gettysburg!!    I told her I did not know it was still functioning as a school.  She said, "Oh yes; it never stopped, not even during the battle!"

That's quite a history indeed!!  ;-)

We enjoyed our time worshipping there that day.
