Snotty puts new heater valve on the Hurst 300
« on: May 27, 2011, 07:14:41 PM »

Snotty and I installed the new heater valve today.    We were willing to bet the farm that the heater core would leak when we hooked it up, but it passed the Snotty garden hose pressure test !   We couldn't believe it didn't leak.    Valve and heat work quite well.  Somebody must have disconnected it because they had the wrong valve in it.   Also, we straightened the deck lid which was raised on one side due to improperly adjusted hinge brackets.    I don't know what I'll do when Snotty leaves next month.    Who else will fix yer car for a double cheeseburger and a milkshake?

That's the same valve I had on my old 70 Sport Fury.  Worked great!

Nice to catch up on a few of the little things that always need repair.

True, but we hardly ever need heat in CA anyway.......just a few days when the temp plummets all the way down to 50 F.    That's "really cold" in CA.    A/C is much more important out here.    It's nice to get as many things working as possible though, just to see if you can do it.

Ha!!

The weather has been really weird here though.  When Michagan is 20* hotter than Bakersfield, something is out of whack!!!

(However, I hope it stays cool until next Thursday.  Jerry and I are driving the Grem and the Newport to Chico, and the Grem does not like summer heat.  So, the cool weather would be a blessing.)
