I've been given a second chance
« on: April 15, 2011, 01:33:44 PM »

Well, the 69 Monaco 500 I posted about last week is available to me.  Iv'e had a second chance. Weather permitting I'm off for the 400 mile trek  tomorrow to go see it in person.   If it's anything like the 50 pictures he sent me, I'll be picking it up in a couple of weeks. Need to find a fuel pickup for it so the tank can go back in.

Right on Peter!
That is a kewl ride!
That's a car that will make Glen jealous,LOL!!
Canadian Monaco 500's are a different bird with Sport Fury interiors and oober nice with buckets and console.
318 for MPG and an interior to spoil one's fanny.
The bias ply tires have to go,IMO.LOL
Sending units are available in repop.
Not cheap--but available.
I might have a working used one around here somewhere..I have a tank as well.
The Dodge 4dr is actually a 63.

Well, my co-pilot was ill today, so I have decided to fly out tomorrow for the inspection. Considering gas costs, meals and lodging, not to mention the 14 hours round-trip across the Rockies twice in the snow, this will be a better choice for me.

Well it's mine now. Just waiting for the plane home. Picking it up in a couple of weeks when the weather is better. Now I can start looking for the sending unit so the tank can go back in.

Very true.. I had to put a new tank in and it was worth it.. no worries for years to come.. and they are pretty inexpensive.. the last thing you need it rust getting in your pick-up on the drive home an stopping you on the road...

According to the tail-light, that baby blue car next to it is a '63
Dodge 330 or 440 (Polara had a different light).  Probably a 330,
the 440 had a double side strip with a color insert iirc.

63 330 is correct.
