No big deal. They go in, push stuff back where it belongs, sew the area up, put a flexible screen over the area and staple the skin together.  I guess you need to have tougher skin or should have cut the cord before tugging on it.

Naaaah, Dad had one for 12 years before I knew it and he was a teacher, so he liked to explain things, Grandfather had one for 42 years in his scrotum and I never knew about it until he went into the hospital. All that time he was hauling bales of hay on his back with a pitchfork, watched him geld a horse when he was 78years old (by himself), and he could kick the tar out of a cow better than anyone. Me, never had one, still trying to figure out who mom was being a secretary to for my genes, nobody will tell me.

I see the surgeon next week... it seems to be getting bigger so I don't want complications. This kind is the easiest to get a blockage...

It was weird to have this lump over my belly button... actually scared me when people seem to be getting cancer all the time.

I watched a video on the repair. I'm glad its not one of the hernias that can happen in your groin or the one that drops in your sack..

I'll keep you guys in the loop. With two pushed discs in my back and a hernia in the front I'm not moving too good... and I'm only 38.. wow.. get out the walker and wheelchair.. LOL

"and I'm only 38" ...wait'll you pass 60, then get back to us!

"hernias can kill you" true but strangulated hernias are very rare and only if not dealt with.
