Those grid hearers pull a ton of AMPS.  I don't think you would benefit much from it since you'd have to run a big diesel battery, then a huge 120+ amp alternator, and all the big wiring and relays for the grid heater.   Very little benefit, for all that extra outlay.

Neat set-up though Steve.  Do you have a pic of it installed?

Brian. . .  I already have a grid heater operational from the factory.  If you look at the pictures, you'll see the restriction in the stock one.  They draw 40 amps.  This new one draws 41 and as you can see, way more flow.

I keep the heater JIC I go up to Canada for my wifes family.  Without plugging it in, I'm good for -20F.  When I go up there, I bring a little 2000 watt generator with a modified fuel tank so I can run it for 11 hours on 1.5 gallons.  Other than that, I could do without it

In an effort to keep the intake temps down, I decided to remove the scoop off the bottom of the bumper and make a ram air setup.  It was harder to get that scoop out than to do this mod.  In the process, I discovered the air cleaner was packed with road crap.  Pebbles grass, twigs all jammed in the filter.  So the timing was perfect.

Looks good!!!  I did something similar years ago with my slant six in my 72 Demon.  Ran dryer duct from the rad support up to the air cleaner.  I actually gained some extra, seat of the pants power, and fuel economy.

Yeah.  I did that on Polaraco too.  I revamped it recently with all new plumbing

Wow a lot of stuff on the 6.7!  I'll stick with my early 5.9 12 Valve thanks....only need a couple 12V wire to make it run.

Well they're not here anymore and I agree also.  But what are you going to do?  I make it simple

The big trip is a great way to monitor your MPG after the mods.
Looks good Steve.
