I seem to recall this, along with the gas station one where people drove in, checking under the hood was lifting up the hair to check the oil, thing like that.
 
Gas price.......thirty two cents a gallon.

This should be an old Gulf Oil commercial; it was they who used this type of FX filming.

You bet they were!  33 cent gas, I just got my license, and Dad got a new Fury III hardtop!!!

The Goodyear Super Power Cushions didn't last 6 months!  Dad was pissed.
