STORM-AGEDDON!
« on: February 01, 2011, 05:09:48 PM »

The media is hyping up the groundhog day winter storm since yesterday.
What a joke.
Radio stations here joking about giving the ground hog an auger and shovel.
Another station quoted Willie will not even bother venturing out and suggest you do the same.
Still no snow here yet,and school buses are already cancelled for tomorrow.
Both of my co-workers are not coming in to work since out of the three of us,I am the only one that live in town that has a key to open up the garage.
I take weather seriously, but the media is hyping the crap outa this what used to be normal typical winter weather--at least what I am used to growing up in the Maritimes,anyways. .
I say bring it.It does not bother me none.I am used to it.

Anybody getting walloped from this storm that started in Texas??
Looks like Chicago's getting it,but Buffalo,Detroit, and Toronto are not hit......yet.

Sat out the tornado, wind and severe t-storm warnings between Baton Rouge and New Orleans this afternoon. Not the most fun sitting in an RV. Still beats 2 feet of snow though.

No it is not.  I had to out run a tornado in western Kansas with the trailer last summer. . . .  Late afternoon, light traffic and the next thing we know the sky is black.  Looked off to the north and there it was with my self and a few tractor trailers in it's path.  Ran like hell to see it cross I70 behind us.  The day before I was in a foot of snow.  LOL

You coming up this way Pete?

Oooops!!  I just looked at the cars.  Either the picture is reversed or it was taken somewhere where British Rule exists.

I have over 2 feet laying on the ground.  It melted and froze several times on top.  I can walk on it now.

The good news is today is Ground Hog Day, and the days are getting longer.  Two days ago the sun was out and I felt the warmth from it.  Good sign

Been gorgeous here on the west coast the last few days....cold at night, but clear and sunny during the day.  Was wishing I had the wagon at home so I could go for a cruise.  Clouding over a bit now...maybe some snow....doubt it, will turn to rain.

Having a little wind storm down here in San Diego. Frost was on the ground this morning, but warm was not the word of the day, probably low 60s.

Not heading up the east coast this time. My daughter made it out of Toronto and arrived in New Orleans this morning. She and her significant other are going on a cruise with us next week, then I have to start heading back to the frozen north. I have to be back home by the end of the month. I'm not really looking forward to the return trip.
