i6 is real good.  I used to get 15 with the Diesel.  The last time I clocked it in Florida, on the flats, and got 20.5 and 21 in two consecutive tanks.  Polaraco used to get 25 at 70 MPH.  The 5,9 I just built, is getting around 18 around time in warmer weather.  I can't see a 5.2 in a 4 X 4 getting 27 unless it's been worked.

1998 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 318 magnum 4 speed overdrive, 138000 km/86000 miles

I bought it safetied and he hadn't done the pre-safety on it before selling it too me.. LOL

He had to put on 4 ball joints, pitman arm, complete front brakes, heater core, wipers...

Before I bought it he put on cab corners, box sides and fresh paint..

I don't think he made much money on this deal.

OK  Crappy fuel Mileage Huh?

Part of that is the cold weather.  The same thing goes on with Polaraco.  We have similar injection systems.

Because it's so cold, it take the Magnum a while to warm up.  So it's in Open Loop allot and just pouring gas down into those cylinders.  It doesn't go to open loop until 170*F.  So for however long it take the boss to get to the Pizzaria, it will stay in the gas guzzling mode.

This time of year it's hard to save fuel on them.  When it warms up outside, you'll see a significant difference.

Also, make sure it has a 192* thermostat.  Anything colder is too cold and may effect the computer.  What year is that?

Somebody around here needs to know small blocks!  LOL  Shadappglenn  LOL

it takes her 15 min to get to work driving at 50 mph.  Maybe i should take off the fresh air tube and let it have the engine use the warm under hood air until spring.  The truck is a 98

It might help, but the ODP2 will tend to add fuel to prevent knocking when the air is hot.

In those temps up there and that short a distance, it's only up to operating temps a few minutes when you stop.

You should drive my diesel.  It's barely 140 degrees in 20 miles at 60!

My Gen 1 was like that. I had to put a bra n the front and keep it closed or I would never get any heat.

How about a computer reset?

Doubt it.  All that does is take your driving habits out.  It takes a good 100 miles for the system to relearn.
