prices for 1961 Imperial 4-dr

Anyone a clue on recent sale prices for 61 4-dr hardtop Imperials?

I'm being offered a project car, and it is very much to my liking (4 doors, black).

I know parts can be costly and/or hard to find, but that wasnt much different for my 73 as well.

There not much that I know yet, the owner would call me soon.

Its probably a Crown as that was the most sold model, taking over 50% of sales for the model year.

Here's a 60 Imperial project. Got alot of rust for a California car but it might give you an idea on prices. http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/2104367973.html

The deal on the 61 is off, the car is without any papers unfortunately. Otherwise itwould have been an extremely interesting deal.

Can't the paperwork be dealt with? usually there's a way to get a
duplicate title or some such, at least here in NY and the other US states I've
lived in.  That car looks worth pursuing.

Old Cars Price Guide, Dec 2010: 1961 Imperial Crown Southampton 4 dr hardtop:

#6 (parts car) -  $720

#5 (restorable) - $2160

#4 (good) -  $3600

That one looks to be between #4 and 5 maybe, depending on rust and if it runs.

The car in itself is pretty OK, and it is 4 doors and black, so perfect for me.

The car is already here in Holland, and then its not that easy to arrange papers. I'd also have to go through customs formalities etc as really ALL papers are lost. Maybe I'm going to look further into that car at a later stage. But as is, I'd rather cash the Fury and decide later on a new project.

Besides, there's more than 1 imperial left :)

How about buying a clapped out wreck in the US just for some parts and it's papers? Then buy the one close to home and apply the  I.D.  to it.....

Bob, of course thats possible, but shipping a wreck is not exactly for free, depending on location etc it could cost anything between $1500 and $3000. Just a few tags and some paper is of course mucht easier  to ship :D

But as mentioned, I have an extremely good deal thats for 99% done. Will tell about it later.

Contact Mark Moore.  You don't need the car.  Buy the car, get what you need and the paper and let him keep the car.  I know he has a few of those.  Everybody wins.  And you can cut yourself a sweet deal on that one.POLARACO2011-01-03 17:51:17

We'll see. I have had a better offer on the Fury than the guy is asking for the 61. Also I'm a bit cautious to run into another project so quickly. There's a lot of uncertain factors about that 61. Besides, this 61 isnt going anywhere soon...

For now, I focus on closing the deal with the Fury. I also have a few other goals I want to achieve this year, so maybe the money isnt going into a car at all.
