Stan, I remember seeing within the past 2 or 3 weeks (at most) that guy did pass away, but I'll be darned if I can find that post announcing it.

I have horrible mixed feelings about inquiring about his car.  His story was one of the most tragic I have heard in a long time.  I want to look into that car (it's 100% everything I've beenlooking years for) but I don't want to look like a vulture.  Tough situation.

I don't think you'd look like a vulture since it was announced that the car was going up for auction anyway, but I totally understand your feeling that way.  Ask about it.

According to the thread on the dark side,John had no family,so where do you go to get info about his estate??
Touchy subject, but once the estate holders sees Stan's entusiasm about the car, they may consider him as its "caretaker". CBarge2010-11-28 17:06:28

Seriously, I would be honored to be the Caretaker of this car in his memory.  And I would insist that is the way it would be told.   I don't deserve this car,  He put me to shame as far as courage.

Yep. That's the beauty.  The way that one is built is 101% to every detail that I would have spec'd out if I could have one custom made for me.  It's af he was reading my mind.  Weird....
