Belly pan under the intake.  Common problem.  Just needs a new gasket.  Take the intake off and you'll see the plate under there.  Easy fix, but a PITA to get too.

Yep, what the old fart said, there was a recall on this if not mistaken, which may or may not make the dealership save you some bucks and time doing it.

You talking about that square plate on the bottom of the intake?   I'll definitely check for a missed recall today.... If not recalled, then I guess one of my new baby days next month will be spent in the garage...... put the bouncy seat on the workbench and start her early....lol

Soooooo - Hughes engines offers a better plenum kit for this ....  p/n HUG 7720  for a buck twenty....

I'm ordering the Hughes kit today...........  I got to thinking about why I didn't have this issue on my 97 Ram - I had pulled the intake to fix the oil leaks at the front and rear of it where it meets the block and replaced the plenum gasket while I was there simply because the gasket was in the OEM kit.

I'll have to pick a clear day next month and roll the ragtop outside and take care of it....

So I took care of the plenum pan/gasket 2 days before the baby was born... Amazing how much oil had gathered inside the intake.... The damn thing idles so smooth now, I have to check the guages to see if it's running!  Wasn't too bad of a job - my verticle challenged-ness was not a factor with it being 2wd... My buddy's 4x4 Ram the other day for the same thing is another story...geez

4X's a re back breakers when it comes to engine work.  I have been known to take the front wheels off and set them down on a piece of 2 X 4 on the rotors.

Not sure of a recall for the intake gasket, they did have a TSB for it, it involved replacing the gasket with the revised unit and performing an intake decarbonization. One quick way of checking for a bad intake is to remove the breather on the passinger side with the engine ri=unning if it sounds like a jet sucking in air, it is bad.
