When it rains. . . . .
« on: October 06, 2010, 05:24:23 PM »

Yesterday I learned the guy restoring my 62 300H is about to be forclosed on.    Damn. . . I just got back from retrieving my 62 New Yorker.  Now i have to get that and soon.

I talked to Stan lastnight about it, he had all sorts of ideas, but the bottom line is, I am going to get control of all my inventory.  Unfortunately, after 7 years, the car still isn't done.

Stan, Steve (Uckin Fugly) said he may be able to get me an inside space for the winter.  I wasn't planning on that. . . .  That solves the problem where to put a car with no glass in it.

Stan said he would ride up to Clearwater and help me set the motor and trans back in, but I believe the car is near ready for that anyway.  It's been painted, and the doors are back on it.  The front end and brakes are done, the front fenders and hood need to be put on.  If I can set all that stuff in, then I won't look like sanford and son going down the highway this time.  The motor and trans are all rebuilt, so they are good.

Stan, I'm going to hold you to that help.  I should be able to get allot done myself, but a pair of skilled hands would be a big help.

At least I'll have personal control of all 6 cars now.

I've never seen a guy roll up his sleeves and do the grunt work like he does.

So, what Steve, first you were going to be a politician helper, and now you are a chicken farmer? What's going on? Having a midlife crisis and can't figure out what you want to do with your life, or what?

LOL

The politition was short lived.  It was a good idea, but I decided I was too old and didn't feel like getting dirty.  I'd rather get greasy.

Midlife?  Yeah really late in life.  I was too busy.

Hope this one has a better outcome than the last one.  That wouldn't be hard though.

Man that sucks Steve.  I had the same thing happen when I restored my 68 Coronet 'vert.  I had a ton of metal work and then the body all straightened, got final paint, and then the shop closed.  I had a heck of a time dealing with police, and gov't agencies to get permission to enter and remove MY CAR, and all related parts.  I felt bad for the 3-4 other cars that were being worked on, and never got finished.   My paint was good enough, a few things I was not happy about but I had to live with it since there was no one to warranty the work.

Hope things work out for you Steve.  If I was close and could be of assistance I'd be there too.
