Man that sucks down here..

We only have tailpipe and gas cap leak test.  During a safety they will check for a cat that works ( heat gun aimed at the cat while it's running).

Our test is done on a dyno at a fairly slow speed. Of course you also have to pas the curb idle test for CO and other crap.

I'm glad I never had to test my Big Block Aspen I used to have with no power valve in the Holley.. it would make your eye water at idle sometimes.. LOL

ok... its a 91 and i;m putting the big block in it. i was asking because i need all of the components for smog in 91. hoping that they wont open the damn hood. it may pass without it.

No, sorry.  A '91 needs to be "Factory correct" - that means the same motor as the VIN indicates.

That's an interesting caveat, and true even in California.  Sierra County deos not have Smog Check I or II.  When you purchase a car it must pass smog, but once that's done there are no further inspections until you want to sell it or move to anohtyer County.

Thinking of that, you do not need to move to Oregon as there are a number of Counties in California that are like Sierra.  But, if they are like Sierra County it's very hard to get and hold a job.  SC has 47% unemployment in the winter - and that's in a good economy.

There you go

Tell us about the 74 you got.  I've been looking around for a 74 to 76 full size Dodge Sedan, or a Chrysler Newport well appointed.
