My newest mopar acquisition..WAYGUN!

1973 Plymouth Satellite station wagon!!
I am her third owner,The first and second owners lived in the same neighbourhood in the "Little Greek Town" area of Downtown Toronto.
Many thanks to Ross Woolridge who has known about the car for over 12 years and became friends with the second owner.
Also I want to thank Ray and Doug taking the whole day to help get the car home.
Finally,a big thanks especially to the "shark tank" in Joisey LOL!! Without the mob, none of this would have been possible and not very often do a car like this come around.

Saturday was a big day for me and I do apologize for not posting sooner.
I picked up Ray and Doug around 7:15 AM in my 300 which was loaded with tools,4 mounted radial tires, fluids, gas,a jack, plywood, booster pack, etc.
Arrived at the car around 9:15.
Bill, the owner was waiting for us.
He started the car,and I backed it out of the garage and let it run for 20 minutes to make sure it runs OK.Purred like a kitten.
While it was warming up,we unloaded all the gear from the 300 and prepared to work on the wagon.
Team work at its best.Ray popped the hubcaps off and loosened  the lugnuts as | positioned the tires around the car.Jacked up one wheel at a time and checked the brakes.
They are mint.Wheel cylinders and axle seals are bone dry and the shoes are new.Ditto the front rotors and pads.Put radial tires on the car.
10:30
First hiccup of the day was I tried to install one wheel and discovered that bolt pattern on the used wheel is wrong! So,loaded it up on the 300 along with one of the old bias ply tires to swap rims.
The owners son was supposed to meet me but no sign of him yet.I need him since the title is in his name.
Wee pile into the 300 and drive to the sons house--not there.
Back to the car-he is there waiting for me.
Do the transaction,get  the title.
11:00
drop off the tires at a local small shop.they did it right away.
Then head to the Motor Vehicle Office to transfer the title.
Ray stayed behind to guard the tools and the car.Bill handed him a hose and washed the car to kill time and remove the many years of dirt off  the car.
11:20
30 people in line ahead of me!! The line was moving slowly and every booth was open.
12:00
MY TURN at the booth.
I had all  the paperwork-title,proof of insurance, appraisal, drivers licence and my plates.
I had all my ducks in a row--or so I thought.
I had the wrong portion of the title (dammit)
With the line up even longer behind me the nice lady said there "is a way around that..it costs ten dollars"..OK do it.
More forms to fill out, wait in line some more.
My turn and now we are getting somewhere....oh.wait...
My wife had parking tickets against the 300--which is in my name!!
I had to pay the damn tickets before they could proceed to finish the paperwork.D'OH!
12:40
Back on the road to get the wagon.

"Fresh Barn Find" LOL!

Seriously, this car has lived all its life in this location.
The alley way was a shared driveway with garages for several houses.
The original owner's garage  is the red one behind it.It lived in there  up to 1997 and then moved across the alley into the second owner's grey garage in front of the car in the pic!
Ray pulling off the hubcaps,me doing something.
That's Bill digging out some of his stuff out of the waygun before saying goodbye to it..

This car is a time capsule. It was very well taken care of by Bill and the original owner--and it shows.
Seriously, the next shots are "as found" of the interior--no cleaning done here.

By now it is after 1:00 and we were freakin' starvin'.
With everything loaded up,I got behind the wheel for the very first time and Doug riding shotgun.Ray did the honors of tailing us in my 300C.
Time to look for a burger joint.
Keep in mind,I never drove this car when I first looked at it back in June or July. The tags were expired.
I am all legal and as we drove down the street we heard a funny nopise that sounded like drive line.
Better check that out after we eat.
By  the time we found a Burger King it was 1;20.
Time to relax and recharge my batteries.Let the blood stream soak up the food.
Our next plan is find a garage to check out the noise.
2:00
Found a Canadian Tire 2 blocks from  the BK,and pulled in.
Raay and I crwaled underneath and started checking things out.
I tried to jack up the car but it was loaded, sitting low and too heavy for my little jack.
Ray discovered the rear u joint is ready to fall out--literally!

I got up from the ground and Doug started to remove parts from the car already!!
Seriously, the goofy fender mounted mirror was coming apart and the mudflaps were scraping when going over curbs.

Good ole Canadain Tire!.
They had both the big and small U-joints in stock!
With us needing to get on the road, and in the big GTA,parking lot repairs are frowned upon.
They had a mechanic available and were able to bring the car on short notice.
Even though Scott, the mechanic knew how to drive a standard,he never ever handled a 3 on da tree!! It was funny!!

The old u joint did not look old at all.It appears to have been replaced once before.
However, the small sized u joint in there was incorrect. This old girl takes the big U-joint.
Scott had trouble getting the clips out, since the caps kept spinning around.
Eventually they replaced the  u joint and inside we paid the bill.
.9 labour and 26 bux for the part.
We were at the garage for almost two hours.
We stopped for gas and hit the 401 highway by 4:15.

It rained and I never tested the wipers.
I dared not to try them since the original refills were pretty much petrified rubber.
