What to do?
Using the tailgate as a bench (love it!) I sprayed PB blaster on the old dried up packing tape and let it soak to soften it up.
I did not want to use a sharp edge in fear of scratching  the aluminum trim.
The old tape came off with ease.I gave  the trim a good polishing with Mother's and buffed with a very soft cloth.
Now it looks NOS!!! LOL!

I still have to pull  the sending unit out and replace the float.
Not looking foraward to that since the tank in tucked up inside the left quarter panel.

Is there access from the inside?
No.
According to the FSM (that came with the car) There is a splash shield in the l/r wheelhouse you unbolt.
I can reach my hands up into the connections no problem.
The tire and shield needs to bee removed to pull  the sending unit with the tank still in the car..
Removing the tank is a big job that requires removing the rear shocks, and dropping the rear axle on the left side--not into doing that..no no! NO!
I have heat in the garage now so when i get ambitious--or low on fuel-- I will pull the sending unit.
I better get another gasket for the sender first,IMO.

Funny thing about this car is the body side and wheel lip moldings took all the hits.
With the exception of the left front fender, this car is straight and the moldings are what saved the car from any major body damage.
The paint job is an older enamel job from many years ago.
I noticed that whoever painted the car took the time to remove  the trim before painting it.
No tape lines, and behind the trim is the same paint and the clips are not painted over..

Probably the same gas tank set-up as the 68 T&C.  Take off the rear wheel, then 3-4 screws and the splash panel will drop out, then the unit is right there...very easy to get too and deal with.

Looking great Lea...and that NOS molding looks super!!!

I put on a set of Monroe air shocks at work today.Part # MA757
I will be driving to Toronto with a car load of 4 kids and their "required" electronic gear, bags, etc.LOL
Even without the kids in the car,it rides a whole lot better.I have the shocks set at 50 PSI for the trip.
Will run them at 40 with no load to help keep  the car level.
She developed a miss and found another rotten vacuum line.it is the wierd thingy on the firewall that is between the carb and vacuum advance.
I bypassed it since it appears to be not working.
My timing is at ZERO.Not sure where it is supposed to be.
But it runs much smoother and the flat spot is almost gone and more tolerable to live with untill I GET TIME TO SWAP THE CARB OUT.
Damn caps..
I will be delivering a brake booster to  John Stevenson (john66nyr) for his 66 New Yorker.
That wil kill a couple hours, and also stop in to see the old guy I bought the Waygun from.
Wish me luck, and a safe trip.

The trip to Toronto went without a hitch.
Met up with John with his booster.
I had lunch at Phil's BBQ.The best BBq meat in Toronto.I had the brisket and it melted in my mouth it was that good.

With the load of kids.the car sat level.

You can see she sits a lot better...

Yup,had a coffee  the Bill and his son.
They were very pleased with the repairs I have done so far.
I made sure I washed her up and cleaned up before I stopped in.
They really noticed the trim I replaced. It is amazing how a little detail like that made a big difference in the appearance in the car.

I really like that pic of it sitting out on the street of Toronto...would be a screen shot from any TV show or movie based in the 70's.
