'62 Savoy in Magazine
« on: September 14, 2010, 07:04:53 PM »

Many of you commented on my friend Mike Webber's car when I showed pictues of it in "Gremnlin Update."  I learned this evening that it is featured in a 6-page spread in Mopar Milestones.  I even learned - by reading the article - that his 413 Cross-ram started life as an Industrial motor.  Haven't we been discussing just such in other threads?

Check out the article and the magazine - it has several great articles.

Good for you Mike!

Remember these?  This was the first day the car was on the road.  Pictures were taken in front of my home.

None of us in our Club had heard of it either.  Mike said it could be found at Wallgreens and another place I do not remember.

The magazine reps were at "Mopars at the Strip" in Vegas and talked with Mike about his car.  I don't know if the pictures (in the mag) were taken there or not.

Which reminds me, several of our Members said that "MATS" is not happening next year.  The Chrysler Dealership that has sponsored the show is going belly-up and backed out.

The economy strikes agian!

That's a shame.  I went to MATS in '06.  I had a time I'll never forget.

I have not been; don't want to drive all the way to Vegas on a Friday just to return the next day.  It always happened in the wrong "season" for me - in Lent or right after Easter.  can't take those Sundays off.

Several Club Memebrs commented on how the numbers were down this year so "they were not surprized."  I said I don;t think that's an indicator of anything unique with MATS.  I have not been to a show in three years where the attendance had been what it was - I think the economy is leading people to cut back on attending all shows.

I don't have a copy Steve.  Wish I did for that's a great idea.  The copy I was looking at the other night was Mike's.  The above pics were taken at my home.

'62 Dart was one of the craziest, coolest designs ever, my Grampy had a white 44O hardtop.
I loved that car and still do.  Ahead of it's time.
