Nice work!!  Those 80s Jeeps were some of the biggest rust buckets
ever made I think... I had an 83 CJ7 once, used up lots of 18 ga sheet
steel just patching up that thing!  Most of em just got covered in
diamond plate.

So I had a forced break from working on the Scrambler due to a combination of:
Spending Much Needed Time with My Wonderful Wife and Daughter
A Family Function
My In-Law's PC Going BOOM (Filesystem Corrupt)
-and-
VERY Short-lived Bout of Laziness

Anyway...today I got some more done but didn't take any pics yet...here is what I got done by the end of last week before all the factors listed above got me...

Routed\\Bent Up Rear Brake Line:

Driveline Swapped In - It's resting on two bolts in each frame mount for the time being because the brackets on the frame side need a cleaning...

I also spent some time BRIEFLY cleaning up the transmission\\bellhousing...not going to bother posting pics up of the cleaning work until it's all finished.

Of course, these things do not go smoothly and I found the reason for the pinging that I had heard when driving it before it was taken apart...the #4 plug's electrode had a fracture halfway down which was quickly discovered upon removing the plug wire.

I did not want to touch the plugs because they looked like they have been installed for years and it was not part of 'the job' but I had not choice to once I found that.

I scraped as much crap out as i could with a small screwdriver between the plugs and head...then let it soak up some coke for a few days. :P

Today I removed them and they all came out without issue...luckily.

Should have more tomorrow....

Got some more done...Brian came up to clean\\paint a bunch of stuff also...

My buddy Eric cleaned up and painted the engine.  Now the chassis looks really really nice...otherwise Brian was just goint to 'clean the engine really well' and leave it at that.  I really think that would have been a wrong move.  Why go thru all of this and then fall flat on the rest of the drivetrain?

I also got the gas tank in place with a couple bolts and a clamp.  I have to go get some more hardware - I can't seem to find my box of 5/16 nuts.  That's OK because I need washers anyway...I will pick those up tomorrow.

The floors are getting replaced tomorrow.  It can't wait another day...with my luck we'll have another MONSOON blow through.

Overall shot of how it sits this evening.
