Didn't think a Dippy would go that fast, and they should have wrecked more Aspens.

Bear in mind for the movie the car--or cars--were prepped for the stunt driving and did break.
Truth be known..There is a reason Dippy Police Pursuits came with a 200 KM/H speedo.
With the 2.2 rear gears,my Dippy can do 180 KM/H no problem.
The transmissions had a super low first gear to get going.
In actual police cars, you cannot downshift to 1st gear with the selector.A safety feature to prevent any trany failures. The A990's were reliable but did have some weak links.
1st gear is good up to 80 KM/H,2nd up to 120 KM/H.3rd to the top.

Truth be known..yes those car can take a beating.
I have been driving my Dippy for 6 years and has held up well from my abuse.

BTW,I sold my car this weekend.Time to say goodbye to my trusty old Dippy and move on.
She is tired and the kid who is buying it loves it.If I kept the Dippy, she will start giving me problems and cost me money.
I had her on the hoist at work and the forecast calls for rust and an engine soon.
I never paid for any of the tires on it.Other than maitenance,I hardly put a nickel in the damn thing the past two years.
I got rid of her while the going is good.
