62 New Yorker is Home aka plucked chicken
« on: September 05, 2010, 03:53:13 PM »

Decided to start a thread in the appropriate place.

I spent the day cleaning it up and making room to get it in the tent.  I pressure washed off all the moss and cleaned the engine compartment.  I'm going to have the engine compaerment detailed in a couple of weeks.  Going to run down to Harbor Freight and pick up another engine stand so I can prep this 413 for the 65.  That and the trans will be a winter project.  The Race is on.

Not as bad as it looks

Post Jumper!

The plan is to pull the 62 413 out of the 65 300 and put the 65 300 in the 65.  Then put the 62 413 into the NYB.  The 413 in the 65 now was a fresh motor I did several years ago.  It was in the 59, then put in the 65, now headed for the 62.  I'm putting a 64 trans in it too.

Great! At least now I know how someone else percieves my ramblings when I (have to) explain them (again) about the multitude engine swap plans I always have for my projects... Thanks for the insight!

Trust me. . .Swapping engines all over the place, in my environment,  is not my first choice.  If I had a shop to work in, I wouldn't mind so much

Ignorance is bliss

What is in the 65 300 that shouldn't be?

It has to be done

Seriously,Steve.
Let me know if anything from the two 61's Lawrence has can be of any help.
I can get the parts and bring them down when I deliver the wheels..
