OK, I get it. You FINISHED the Dodge and are STARTING the Chevelle. The pictures you show are the start of the next project, not in the wrong order. I see it now, said the blind man.

I see what you're looking at Snotty but it's just some leaves and debris in the trunk. Trunk floor is solid but it dies have a hole in the rear floor pan. Actually it's pretty solid for a Utah car.

Isn't Utah about as dry as anywhere out there? My New Mexico car is amazingly rust free.

You are right Tom. We grafted in a gas door off of a 68 Ford.

OK, is the DeSoto going to be a full dismantle chrome removal by you, or is it going somewhere else to be stripped and you just to the body and paint? A lot less labor for the latter, faster turnaround on the job, a lot more expensive to the owner otherwise, being more in your pocket, that is.

Now THAT is my kind of car...and in fantastic shape !!
Good chrome, burnt paint, almost no rust,  has to be a AZ car... what's the back story?

It has the low glass back window, no medallion on the R fender and no series nameplate on the  Fender - that means it has to be a FireSweep, not a 'Dome or 'Flite....also  meaning it has (or had) a 361 not a 383.  In this shape that is a rare find nowadays...  hope it's not going to Sweden, what are those oddball  plates??!

Right now it's at a buddy's shop. He does upholstery work and also is very knowledgeable on these cars so he is going to strip all the trim, glass and interior out of it. Them I'll paint it inside and out but he just wants to clean up and undercoat the underside.

According to the emblem it's a Sportsman. The original engine is already rebuilt and ready to go back in when I'm done. The car has been in AZ for a long time but for some reason has Montana plates on it. I believe the current owner bought it from the original owner or at least his family. Odometer shows 36000 and looks like it could be actual miles.
