You weinie!  You TOLD me to take the bed.  Sheesh!

It was nice to meet Dave and to be able to help Steve.  I just wish the story had a happy ending other than the car is heading to Jersey.  Steve and I learned the truth of what REALLY happend these past 7 years - and the truth STINKS!

"That's all I got to say about that...."  (Stanley, I need a Forrest Gump picture inserted here....)

I will post some pictures when I get home.  I am just glad that I finally got my computer connected to an internet server!

Good thing you didn't get my Jim Carey Impression. . .Or was that of you.

Snotty is going to post pictures of me with a long puss.  I was devistated when I saw the car.  Sigh.  Now this is a major project.

I wore the blue on blue and white sneakers just for Snotty.  They were brand new last Monday when I left.  I wear black now.  But I did show him many other colored shirts.  Left wearing a white shirt.  LOL

I'm heading home to Earl.  It's supposed to be there Friday.  I'll be home Thursday.

Momma doesn't want to deal with this alone so the push will be on for the last 1400 miles.  I'm in Nebraska, about 200 miles west of Lincoln.  Tomorrow morning, I will be in Lincoln to replace ANOTHER bad tire and hammer down from there.  Ahhhh  It will probably be just another pppffffttt like the one in '03 was for us.

Ok, pictures.  First, the way the car looked when Steve bought it in September, 2003:

Now, the way Steve found it on Friday, August 27....

The last time we saw the car it was in the garage.  Steve learned the day he arrived that it had been sitting outside for over a year.  There was a ton of rain in Oregon this past winter!  Notice - no glass.

I told Steve the good news is the dash was already cracked and the package tray was toast.  However, there is a lot more surface rust on the car than there was.  The sport grip had been removed from the steering wheel and all but a few pieces of the wheel clear is now gone.  So is the transmission selector and bezel.

This was Steve is a mood considerably better than when we discovered how much stuff is missing on the car.  The story behind why the parts are gone brought us to tears.

Dennis being useful.

Yes, the Chrysler Road Wheels are gone too.  The "discovery"  of that fact was worthy of an Oscar.

I found the tail light and housing in the trunk; I was relieved.

Dave Carr came up form Medford and gave a hand.

This picture of Steve about sums up the day....  (I know he jokes a lot with this particular vissage, but this time it was for real.)

Steve trying to "Cowboy Up."

All wrapped up and ready to go to Jersey - missing the motor, trans, all AC parts except for the evaporator, trans selector and bezel, all electronic ignition components, Road Wheels, Air Cleaner, valve covers, alternator, PS Pump and hoses.  I find it rather funny that all of these parts were stolen or "accidentally taken" while all Ford parts were left behind.  Hmmmm.....

Wanted to take a pictue of the Stratus next to the cocoon.  By the time I made it back to Bakersfield the car had 178,125 miles on it.  The odo actually worked for me on the last day.  I drove from the Bake to Philomath, back down to Mt. Shasta where I headed east to Susanville and then to Reno.  From there south on the 395 to Tioga Pass.  Took the Pass all the way up and through Yosemite and then down to Fresno.  The final leg was back to Bakersfield.  Not bad for a car I bought new in December, 1995.
