Kelly Navigator NLA??
« on: October 05, 2010, 11:00:21 AM »

The local Goodyear place claims Kelly Navigator Gold in P225/70/15 or 75 series is now NLA!

Now that my F3 is soon to be on the road, I need tires, and about
$80-85 ea is what I'd prefer to pay, and I want a US or Canada made
tire.

He does have Kelly Explorer Plus in 215/70/15, which would work, for
$79, but I'd really prefer 225s on a car this size... ideas??

Good call Stan, yep, a different local tire place has the Trendsetter
SE, and that was my fallback choice.  I like 235s but my stock
wheels are a tad skinny for them.  I don't want aftermarket
wheels, and I'm too cheap to buy bigger stock wheels, plus I'm a sedate
(sedated?) driver these days anyhow, so no real advantage.  The
stock tire was like a dinky F or G78x15 and the wheel is 5.5" in I
think... I used to put 235s on my fusey wagons but they had
bigger wheels, 6.5 I believe.

2257515 are ok on the skinny rims.
215's too small of a diameter--even for my wagon they are too small.

Honestly Roger, you won't see the difference between the 5.5 ands 6" wheels.  I had 235's on my 71F3, and they were great

I recall I had 235s on my 73 Cust Sub and 77 Gran Fury but don't recall
what I had on the original 71 F3, but I think they were 225, it was
somewhat lighter - even in the '80s the tire industry had already gone
to P metric sizes for US cars...  off to VT to see pretty leaves -
see ya'll Sunday!
