Interesting.  I never gave it much thought.  Maybe they were installed on power window cars?

Guess I lied on my previous post. As I was doing some disassembly  and door jamb work today, I had to remove these covers from my 300 (power window car). So I thought I would check the NY (no power), and it does not have the covers, nor the screw holes that would indicate they had been there once upon a time.

I was just rumaging through some pictures a few days ago of junked cars.  I found one that had them.  But I don't know what the car is or where it was.  It did have power windows/locks and seats though.  I think it was a New Yorker 2 Door I was thinking of getting from Moores
