That's not waht I was talking about.

I couldn't drop a simple 318 into the 50 frame.  I said. if the rails are wide enough.  Otherwise, the engine is going to be sitting too high, ot he has to do some extensive mods to the chassis.

Aaaaaaaa, no guts, no glory, and it is pretty simple.

Measure twice, cut once.

What the heck do you think we are all here together anyway? If we can't figure out how to do it, why do we ask?  It has been done before, it can be done again. Heck, this isn't reinventing the wheel, it is making the wheel fit where others have mounted one.

Read that to mean:  We are too stupid to know that it can't/shouldn't be done.

I grafted the M Body rails, subframe, steering, suspension into the 50 in 48 hours.  Far easier than cutting and rewelding.  And stronger!   Got my motor and trans mount and all the little things in between too.  Even the tail shaft angle was perfect.  Do a chop job in that time and get all that!

More like, someone else did it, I can do it even better.

That's OK, we'll get it right eventually.

Some idiot after a couple of Steel Reserves looking at a Rambler American on eBay and thinking a 440 4 speed would be just what it needed...

I was driving home and remembered it, thinking, heck, if a 460 can be put into a Pinto, why are we really thinking this is rocket science?

Anything can be done. . . .  But you know as well as I do, there are a bunch of butchers out there.  That's where my mind goes on these projects

Butchers have been around for decades, if not millenia, but with the close-knit unit we pretend to be here, with a little patience and a little bit of fabrication, hey, easy project.
