Big Red. . .(65- 300) Here we go already
« on: June 13, 2010, 07:15:30 PM »

Big Red is here. . .   I just finally got into the car itself.  Last year I dropped the 413 in, but that was about it.

First thing, right off the bat, was to get a drive shaft installed.  All the shafts I have are too short..  Chris and I have been exchanging emails over that.  I found one locally though.  Thanks for all that trouble Chris.

I'm going to work this in reverse.  I have all the interior out of the 4 door, and a carpet I bought years ago for my 66.  So to get that out of the way, I will get the interior fixed up.  The interior needs so little, I think Elaine and I can handle most of the repairs, except the head liner.   If I ever have the money, I'll have it all done over.  But I need to get new foam for the seats in the mean time.

The drivers window is missing.  Chris sent along a glass and a motor, but the rest is missing.  A friend of mine has a 66 2 door he's stripped, I'm hoping I can shake him down for the parts.

So far, I'm off to a rough start.

Pictures to follow

Rex. . .where did you get your seat foam?

I got the bucket foams from Legendary but the upholsterer said he had to heavily modify them to work.  The rear seat was stuffed with cotton like the original.

How long?  When you're done and it's driveable.  LOL

I have glass coming now Dan.  It was shipped today.  I don't think I have the correct power regulator.  I'll know when the glass gets here.  I think I have everything.  What I do have looks just like the stuff I took out of the Fury

Edit
OOPS!  Rude of me

Rex. . .where did you get your seat foam?

Is the faom from Year One the same as the foam from Ledgendary?

I have to take these seats apart and clean them real good.  There's a couple of repairs needed we're going to try to do ourselves.

For the cost, the white seats a re pretty inexpensive.  I may just buy new covers.  In time.

Anything is better than this mess
