How rare are sunroof '74-'78 C's?
« on: June 13, 2010, 04:23:37 PM »

Just curious how rare a '76 Newport Custom 4 dr. HT w/ a sunroof and a '77 New Yorker similarly equipped would be?

Thanks!

They are low production in all Formal C's.
They are more commonly seen in the New Yorker Brougham than any other formal C.
Most were 2 door models to boot.
So to be seen in a lower model line in a four door is quite rare.
Valuable? neh.Unique? oh heck yeah!

OK. Both were ordered by and still owned by the original owner. '76 Newport Custom is a triple white 4 door hardtop 400 2 bbl, not sure about the '77 other than it's a New Yorker.  I ran into the elderly gentlemen owner the other day and offered to help him make the cars run better and maybe fix the gas guage in the '76. We'll see. They are the only 2 sunroof cars of that vintage I have seen.

Thanks!

The Newport w/the sunroof is definately an oddity.  In a good way.

Saw the white car again the other day. He was out tooling around in it.
