Damn kids
« on: March 13, 2010, 06:42:52 AM »

Kids today are getting more and more brazen or brave.
Last night I turned in,and my nephew was in the basement rec room watching TV.
I heard some noises but thought it was him coming up to the kitchen getting a snack.
This morning I went to the closet to get my coat...
It was missing.
In a hurry to get to work,I grabbed another coat.
As I walked to my car,my coat was on the fence, with the hanger on the ground and old reciepts strewn all over.
I found my wife's coat in the backyard.
Now what really got me pizzed was they took my keys to my Dippy which were in my coat!
As a precaution,I cut  the battery terminals and pulled the battery.
If they got the key, they may come back for the car--I will be waiting.
$17.00 in a cab got me to work and on time.
Now I have to bust up the column and get another set of keys.
I have no spares.D'oh!
They did not get in the garage, thank god.I have security lights that come on when somebody is back there.

The nerve of someone walking when we are home.
Luckily,it appears they were looking for cash since the laptop on the table did not dissappear.
My fault not locking the house doors, so I will have to take it on the chin and lock up at all times.
Lesson learned.

Ok.
Jack has a brand new tumbler with two keys for ten bux!
So,a trip across the border is in order (heh that rhymes)
I got a steering wheel puller,so if all goes well, the Dippy will be back on the road before Monday's grind to work.

Lock the doors.....everyone. This is not 1950 anymore, this economy is making criminals out of those who were too lazy before to do it. I hit the lock buttons on the electric garage door openers too, as my dad sometimes forgets to bring the handheld units in from the car.

Yer lucky it wasn't a major home invasion with shotguns and such.....

Last Fall I had a kid come wondering in here around 10:00.  Went right for my computer.  He went back out the door and landed on the sidewalk across the house.  About 20 feet.  He never heard me coming.  LOL  Grabbed the Cell, call the cops and held him.  The parents had the balls to yell at me because "Johnny is a good boy".  Yeah?  "This it the same kid I caught trying to get into my truck a few months ago.  He may be a good kid, but he's a lousey crook."  He's lucky I didn't break him in half.

They shut up and he got 50 hours of community service.  I beep and wave at him when he's sweeping the gutter up town now.

Bummer Lea. . . .  Nice Neighborhood.  Remind me to mount a Howitzer on the roof the next time I come up.

Luckily, I live in Florida. I can even shoot them when they're fleeing.

UpdaTE.
Getting home after work,I did a closer sweep of the house,my Digi camera is gone.
Coulda been worse.
I drove to Jack's but he did not have the right tumbler..it was too old I needed a newer style.
Now I am really bummed.
But when I got back from jack's (3 hour round trip) I proceeded  to rip apart the Dippy's column.
I got the tumbler out.
next is see a locksmith or a parts jobber for a replacement or re=program.
The brats may have the key,but she is not movin.

Pics I've seen of your house look like a nice middle class suburb - it close to a high crime area?

I live in a very decent neighborhood, but only a mile or 2 from a
questionable one where IBM factory is/was, older housing but used to be
quite safe, until NYC welfare types figured out they could come 2 1/2
hrs up to the Southern Tier, buy a cheap house, and live High on the
Hog on their monthly checks... NY state pays the about the same no
matter where you are....grrr... but between the Saiga and the
scattergun, I got those birds covered.

There's a guy on my street sucking on the teat of the NY welfare system.
&*^%-ing guy is better off than I am....
Plus, he's milking the tax exempt status of his "Ministry" for all it's worth.
AND, he's at every town meeting complaining about not getting all the services he's "entitled" to.
