good nesw about the car, yes she is totaled,but, her insurance company is giving me $4,580.14 for her so off she goes, sad to see her go,but, time for something a little newer, looking at 2002-2004 Neon SXT's saw some with decent miles in the $4,000-5,000 range. Need to do some negotiating and maybe get one for $4,000 out the door, tags, title and tax.

Didn't neon's have headgasket issues? Or was that just the older models?

No, Neons didn't have a serious headgasket problem as far as I know. . .
 
Anything with aluminum heads is liable to have the problem.  But they have gotten MUCH better since the 80's

First gen Neons did, then Chrysler started using the multi-layer headgasket in late 98 and that fixed the oil leak problem on both 2.0L and 2.4L engines
