Detroit or Deleo Upholstery book

Anyone ever heard of these books or have access to one? The folks at
Original Auto Interior told me they were given out to upholstery shops
each year, showing the fabrics that were used for each car for that
year. I need the numbers from it to get cloth seat material for my '56
Packard and '58 DeSoto since the original seat fabric for samples is
gone.... StitcherBob, or anybody, know?

I have 1959, 1960, 1964, 1977, 1991 and 1993-1999......but maybe my friend has the books you need. They got to be expensive and didn't get used that much so I stopped getting the new ones. The old ones turn up at sales (even more so as older shops go belly up in this economy....)and online.

I'm also looking at a '55 Hudson and '57 Nash Ambassador...

I'm getting more and more into the orphans & independents lately it seems .

Have you tried contact SMS Auto Fabrics?  They have a huge inventory of NOS material and can usually send you a sample of what was original to your car.  All they would need is the interior trim code.

Notorious for taking up to over a year or more to make door panels or
repop OEM cloth, which they can do for almost any '50s and up car. See
the "Vendors" thread on:  http://www.forwardlook.net

(sorry Steve, no plug intended, just info).

Strange.  I've had nothing but great dealings with them.  They did the door panels, convertible top and boot and made the red/black basket weave material for my seat inserts.  All of them were delivered on time.

Read the threads on FL.net... it seems a LOT of people have had issues
with them, and the owner seems to have an attitude problem to boot.
