For those of us with Hide away WIPERS
« on: December 04, 2009, 01:37:25 PM »

I have been looking real hard to find replacement wipers that will tuck under that blasted lip on the hood of Polaraco

I found something, with a slight mod, that works.  They are the Contour series from Anco  The part number is C-16-UB

I had to grind a 16th of an inch off the top of the mount and enlarge the hole slightly.  Splash of paint and here you go.  Maybe they won't be as noisey with my delay wipers now.

They look to be very well made have a wind deflector on them and seem to be made of a better material than the regular ones are.  They're just like the Michelin blades, but twice as good in quality.  Expensive suckers

Steve.  Go to a junkyard and find the original type matt finish
silver ones, then replace the rubber inserts. They didn't do black arms back
then. That's what's on all mine.. I know where some are if you want em.

yeah OK. . .

Let me see.  4 hours to the nearest yard that might even have anything remotely close, 10 bucks for the parts, hours finding the replacement blades and reconditioning the old arms, 10 bucks for the refills

32.00 for these. . .  10 minutes worth of work

20 Bucks in parts, 20 bucks in fuel, and 5 hours.

  Bustin ya

Now you know, there isn't one exit number in New Jersey that even remotely has a car like this around, and these work better

I just bought a pair at NAPA for the Imperial....real silver ones that are a dead ringer for the OEM's and snapped right onto the pivot shafts.   http://www.tricoproducts.com/Trico2/replacement/windshieldwiperproducts/wiperblades/ShowContent.aspx?ID=30

and my yard here 10 min away has plenty of the originals too. You need to move away from the city Steve!

"you're 3.5 hours away" ... huh? I can be in Dover NJ in 2 hr 25 min. Isn't that next to Wharton?

I used to go to Moss Motors in Dover for MG parts before they moved to
VA....  You hardly ever get to Willet though.  Me, I can't
take living near congestion... no room for parts cars. I'd think you
should be able to get to Whitney Point in 2 hr 45 min no prob, and I'm
closer.

Then I am doing something wrong. . .Probably staying below the speed of sound.

Willit is average 3.5 hours from here.   Still, it's allot of time invested.  Time I never seem to have
