This one I'll be watching closely - probably the one I like best so far.  Give it hell, Steve.

Yes it will be.  I am looking into building a 401 stroker for this and I have the 4 speed already.  Just need a shifter.

I am also looking at putting a 6 pack on the 401.  NOW THAT will be unusual and ought to be a snorter.

I drove it around the neighbor hood yesterday without an exhaust.  The clutch is a bit noisey when the pedal is completely depressed, but it looks like a new clutch weas installed.  Car handled very well, brakes are excellent, but I am still going to upgrade the fronts, probably to Snotty's 12 X 3, vs. the 11 X 2 drums.  Too lazy to change the spindles.  LOL.

Since I took the picture of the frame, I have installed the brake lines

Update

The weather has been working against me. I have a total of three weeks to get this all apart and back toether.  Gonna be tight!

The front is off, tomorrw I'll pull the engine and trans.  Then I will struggle with dropping the old frame.  Once that is out, I'll be able to do some detailing underneith with rust prevention and painting.  As you saw above, the new frame is ready to go back in.  Once that's in, dropping the engine in will be a snap and  the rest is pretty easy.

Looks like I got this just in time.  The left front fender is junk as the inner fender.  I saved the fender from the 67 as I did the inners.  The Right front needs a small spot rebuilt and a bunch of rust converter.  The outer half of the inner is rotted around the bolts connecting it to the fender.  I have the left front inner ready for painting and am in the process of prepping the the right  inner.

The floors are solid, except for one small place where the forward seat bolt comes through in the drivers side.  The cross brace is rotted too, but I still have the floors from the vert.  The drivers side is the worst, always.  But this will be a quick save.  The pressure washer shows me right away where the trouble spots are.

I'm using this new rust converter from Eastwood.  The also have spray cans of a new inner frame sealer.  It converts the rust and seals it with a permanent coating.  I tested it in a small external spot. . .That stuff is tough!

I'll get some shots of it soon. . .   In the mean time, I think I'll be pulling the engine in the rain

You can't beat POR15 imo, butyou have to do the prep exactly like they
say. I haven't had good luck with converters, but Eastwood tends to vet
their stuff before selling it, so may be good.

Look at the T Bar support.

The floor pockets are in great shape, but the forward perches are fotting in the middle.  The shims blew out and damaged the perches by colapsing them.   I can fix it pretty quick though.  Stronger than new.

This frame has a rebuilt steering box and Idler, so I'll reuse them on the new frame.

I NEED A SMALL BLOCK THROTTLE CABLE FOR THE 68.  Helps if you disconnect it when pulling the engine.  nybody have one?  I need it right away.

Going to detail the firewall before I put the frame in.

Autorust up in RI can help you out with the rotted sections.  They'ved saved a lot of cars for people.  Give them a call.

I have all the pieces I need.  Whether I get to ALL of it this year is doubtful.  I am picking a set of rust free 1/4 sections when I go to Oregoon

Thanks Stan  I'm stubborn.  I'd rather do it myself.  So there.

Auto Rust Tech's are good guys. I was working with them on my Rambler, but was never able to make the trip up there with the car.

I referred to Autorust because they manufacture a lot of repair parts for rotton Mopar subframes.  They've saved a lot of Mopars from a trip to the crusher.

Yeah, I've heard of them, but I have the other frame ready to go and it didn't cost me anything.   I had already rebuilt that frame, with everything but the steering box and idler.  Low and behold, this frame has more good parts.  It even has a good set of ball joints.

Besides, would you put money into that frame?

I'd put my money into Steel Reserve if that was my frame.
